Rocky Mountain Club Ride
Another Sunday, another club ride. It was a strange one this morning, as the biggest group yet set off from Trowbridge, and picked up two new guys along the way. We headed off towards Wells, which is one of the bumpiest routes we do. With a puncture and some people finding the hills a bit tough, it ended up a bit stop-start and fairly gentle. It was a good pace on the way back with the wind behind.
My front mudguard snapped on one sharp corner, so it ended up being thrown away. It’s probably psychological as I felt much better after that. I seem to get quite a bit of rubbing from the mudguards which just makes everything harder. I still didn’t feel particularly strong, but others found it tougher which always makes you feel better. Scary to think on a long distance triathlon I’d still have another 100km to do. Still, it is only January …
