A swim at last
After a couple of exhausting days with the little fella not wanting sleep during the day or at night (though a nasty cough didn’t help), I managed to sneak in a swim after work. I always go with these grand ambitions of knocking out set after set and doing drill after drill. My biggest problem is I just get so bored, and swimming in the evening when I am already tired means I want to get home as soon as I can.
I decided to try swimming slowly, to see if it made a difference. It did seem to help, and I swam 600m straight off in around 12mins 30secs. This is slower than normal, but my breathing was still under control and my arms and shoulders weren’t burning. I really should have carried on, but there was a guy in the lane who seemed intent to muscle his way up and back, turning the lane into a mini wave machine. Still, its progress. Just another 3.2km to add on top and that would be the swim leg done!
