February Update

Overall, it’s turned out to be a great month training wise, and I feel in a much better place than just a couple of months ago. Going through in triathlon order:

Swim
Total Swim Distance - Feb 2015

I’ve made a real effort to go swimming 3 times a week, and it’s starting to pay off. I’m only swimming a total distance of 1km each session, and that is made up of a number of reps, but it’s way better than it was. If you look at the total distance swum (though I wasn’t using the Garmin Swim watch religiously in January), I’ve upped it from 3.5km total in Jan to just over 12km in Feb. The big thing is I am starting to feel more comfortable in the water. I know I should be doing lots of drills, but at the moment I just want to get some confidence that I will be able to get through 3.8km. I always start seeing how far I can swim from the off. In January this was around 4-500m, but over the past few weeks this has started going up to 7-900m, so again a big improvement.

Bike
Total Cycle Mileage - Feb 2015

I’ve not ridden as much as I would have liked as I’m still on the old hybrid commuting to work, and various things have stopped me commuting that often. However, I’ve done two 100km+ solo rides at the weekends, both of which have been hilly and without stopping (other than getting lost on the latter).

Run
Total Run Distance - Feb 2015

I only managed 3 runs in January recovering from the latest calf strain. I only did 7 in February, but I still managed to run a sub-45 min 10km and the last few runs (or jogs) have been pain free. I’m start to get some confidence back and ultimately the run is one that I’m least worried about fitness-wise
